NXTGEN are supporting a rapidly expanding global business in their search for a Treasury Accountant, who will work closely with the Head of Treasury to deliver all middle office responsibilities and accounting tasks. As Treasury Accountant you will lead the treasury financial close process at month end, working with the wider treasury function to ensure all transactions have been accurately recorded, reconciled and accounted for at month end. You will also have responsibility for all intercompany transactions and reconciliations ensuring these can be delivered in an effective manner. As Treasury Accountant you will also report on all debt and derivative accounting for the group, working closely with colleagues in the wider Finance team to ensure a greater awareness for these activities. There will also be an opportunity for the Treasury Accountant to review and improve current processes to ensure they are fit for purpose and meet the needs of a scaling business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead on all Treasury financial closes including hedge accounting, debt and derivative accounting
- Playing an active role in the review of treasury and financial controls to ensure quality of financial reporting and to reduce potential risks
- Maintain the integrity of treasury financial information within the general ledger and build reports to monitor FX P&L's
- Review all month end treasury reconcilitations, working with the shared services team to deal with any anomalies and queries
- Manage all group intercompany transactions and ensure these are accurately accounted for
- Manage key banking relationships and provide insight and advice to the treasury team on credit risk
The successful candidate will ideally be either a fully qualified accountant or Treasurer (ACA/ACCA/ACT or equivalent), with a strong technical accounting background. You will ideally have had prior experience in a middle office role and will be confident working in a very visible and high profile position, business partnering with a range of senior stakeholders. Candidates will be confident using a range of financial and treasury instruments as well as having a good working knowledge of FX hedging. You will be analytical and commercially minded with an ability to spot potential treasury opportunities, working with the front office team to drive improved treasury performance. There will be great opportunities to add value in this role through the review and design of treasury processes and as such the successful candidate will need to be confident leading key projects.
