NXTGEN is working with a long-standing and growing accountancy practice in Bury St Edmunds to recruit a Payroll Senior to join their small but experienced and enthusiastic payroll team. As Payroll Senior, you'll take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients, managing all aspects of their payroll processing while also having the chance to get involved in wider payroll projects alongside Senior staff, too. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of clients, including weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls
- Calculate and process statutory payments including SSP, SMP, and SPP
- Administer auto-enrolment pension schemes and ensure compliance with regulations
- Handle payroll queries from clients and HMRC, providing timely and accurate responses
- Process starters and leavers, including P45s and P60s
- Support with year-end procedures and submissions
- Keep up to date with payroll legislation and contribute to process improvements where possible
What the client is looking for:
- Previous experience in end-to-end payroll, gained in either industry or a bureau/practice environment
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation and statutory requirements
- Confident working with payroll software
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- Strong communication skills with this being a client-focused role
- Team player who is proactive and enjoys what they do!
