NXTGEN is delighted to be working with a long-standing and growing accountancy practice in Spalding to recruit a Senior Payroll Administrator. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to join a close-knit, supportive team in a varied and hands-on role, offering plenty of scope for development and progression. As Senior Payroll Administrator, you'll be part of a practice that has built a reputation for delivering a personal and high-quality service to its loyal and diverse client base. The firm is known for its people-first culture and prides itself on offering a genuinely collaborative and sociable working environment. This is a great opportunity for a Senior Payroll Administrator who is looking to take on more responsibility and grow within a supportive and friendly practice.
The office is sociable and welcoming, and while the team would love to have the successful Senior Payroll Administrator based on-site, they also recognise the importance of work-life balance and can offer flexibility depending on individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of clients, covering weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls
- Calculate and process statutory payments including SSP, SMP, and SPP
- Deal with client and HMRC queries, providing timely and accurate responses
- Handle payroll changes including starters, leavers, P45s, and P60s
- Support with year-end reporting and submissions
- Stay up to date with payroll legislation and contribute to system and process improvements
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience in end-to-end payroll, gained in either industry or a bureau/practice environment
- Strong working knowledge of payroll processes, legislation, and statutory requirements
- Confident using payroll software
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines across multiple payrolls
- Strong communication skills with a client-first approach
- Proactive team player who enjoys working in a collaborative environment
