NXTGEN is delighted to be partnering with a growing Accountancy Practice based just north of Norwich to recruit an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant. This is a brilliant and rare opportunity to join a friendly, collaborative team that truly puts people first - not just their clients, but their staff as well. The firm is known for delivering a high-quality, personal service across a broad and ever-growing client base.
Following continued growth and increasing demand from both new and longstanding clients, the firm is now looking to strengthen its Accounts & Bookkeeping team. Whether you're someone who can hit the ground running, or you've already had hands-on experience in practice and are looking for a bit more support to progress, they're open to shaping the role around you. You'll be trusted with your own portfolio of clients when the time is right, and thanks to the firm's ongoing expansion, the responsibilities and future opportunities can be built around your strengths and ambitions. Flexible hours to work around you and a clear path for development are all part of the package.
If you're considering a move or even just wondering if there's something better out there for you, this is a role definitely worth exploring. I've worked with this client for a number of years and have helped build their team. Many of those who joined came from more traditional or corporate settings, and all have said the same thing that they wish they'd made the move sooner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver bookkeeping duties for a varied client portfolio, ensuring all records are maintained accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare VAT returns and liaise with clients to ensure deadlines are met.
- Support the preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Assist in the production of management accounts and other client reporting as required.
- Maintain regular client contact, responding to ad hoc queries and building strong, lasting relationships.
- Collaborate with other team members to improve processes and enhance service delivery.
What We're Looking For:
- Prior experience within a Chartered Accountancy Practice or Bureau environment.
- A confident communicator with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Competent using Excel and familiar with cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero or QuickBooks.
- Someone who enjoys variety and is eager to learn and take on more responsibility over time.
What's on Offer:
- A tailored role that fits your personal and professional ambitions, with flexibility on hours and workload.
- Competitive salary dependent on experience.
- A clear pathway for career development within a firm that's growing organically and sustainably.
- A collaborative working culture where your contribution is genuinely valued.
- A non-corporate environment where your ideas are valued
