As Assistant Accountant, you'll be working directly with the Financial controller and wider senior finance team, supporting key month-end tasks, government reporting, payroll processing, and more. You'll be encouraged to get stuck in from day one and with full study support offered for ACCA or CIMA plus a payroll qualification, this is a brilliant opportunity to fast-track your career.
This business is growing, investing heavily in both people and systems, and offers a genuinely exciting platform for anyone early in their finance career who wants to get exposure across the board. You will need to bring a strong working knowledge of Excel and have worked in a similar role previously or are a finance assistant looking to make the step up.
Key Duties:
- Supporting the full month-end close process including journals, prepayments, accruals, and reconciliations
- Raising ad hoc sales invoices and ensuring accurate revenue reporting
- Preparing and submitting government returns including VAT, Intrastat, P11d, PSA, and more
- Processing payroll data accurately via third-party software
- Liaising with HR, HMRC, and benefit providers on payroll and compliance
- Completing daily bank reconciliations for both GBP and EUR accounts
- Acting as the main point of contact for expense systems and company credit cards
Ideally you will be AAT qualified or are studying towards an ACCA/CIMA qualification. If you are AAT Qualified and looking to take the next step in your qualification this opportunity offers full study support for ACCA or CIMA, as well as a recognised payroll qualification, all fully funded by the business.
