NXTGEN are pleased to be working exclusively with one of King's Lynn's most well-known and prestigious brands to recruit an Accounts Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented finance professional to join a highly reputable local employer in a varied and hands-on role. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key part in supporting the finance function, taking responsibility for customer invoicing, credit notes and providing cover across Credit Control. The role offers variety, responsibility and the chance to work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing sales invoices for customer orders
- Compiling Excel reports from daily dispatch information to prepare completed sales orders for invoicing
- Liaising closely with the Internal Sales Team to confirm orders ready for invoicing
- Reviewing sales orders to ensure all details are accurate prior to invoicing (including product references and relevant documentation)
- Raising invoices using the Nav accounting system
- Ensuring all invoicing is completed accurately and in a timely manner, reconciling against the sales order book
- Processing customer credit notes in line with instructions received
- Verifying all credit note details against original sales invoices
- Raising credit notes using the Nav accounting system
- Providing cover for Credit Control when required, including
- Raising ad hoc sales invoices as required
- Supporting the wider finance team with additional duties when needed
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong accuracy and attention to detail, alongside a methodical and well-organised approach to their work. You will be highly numerate and confident handling financial data, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to liaise effectively with both internal teams and external customers. You will understand the importance of confidentiality, ensuring all data is handled in line with GDPR and data protection regulations. A proactive, flexible and positive 'can do' attitude is key, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team.
