Senior Payroll Admin/ Norwich

Are you an experienced payroll professional looking for a role where you can take ownership, develop your skills and be part of one of the best Payroll teams?

NXTGEN are working with a highly regarded accountancy practice in Norwich that is looking to bring a Senior Payroll Assistant into its established and growing payroll team. With demand for their services continuing to increase, this is a great opportunity to join a business that puts its people first and takes real pride in the service it delivers to its clients.

The role offers plenty of variety, from managing your own client portfolio and handling more complex payroll matters to supporting senior members of the team and helping junior colleagues develop. It's an opportunity to take the next step in your payroll career without compromising on flexibility or work-life balance.

One of the things that really sets this firm apart is its culture. You'll be joining a manager and team who genuinely enjoy what they do, work closely together and care about getting things right for their clients. There's a real emphasis on collaboration, recognising success and creating an environment where people feel supported and enjoy coming to work.

Having worked closely with this firm for several years and placed a number of people across the practice, I can offer a genuine insight into the team, how they work and what makes them such a good business to be part of.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and processing end-to-end payroll for a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Dealing with more complex payroll queries, including PAYE, pensions and statutory deductions.
  • Building strong client relationships and providing a reliable, high-quality payroll service.
  • Working alongside the wider team to identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
  • Supporting senior team members and helping develop more junior colleagues.

What they're looking for

  • Previous payroll processing experience within an accountancy practice or payroll bureau.
  • Familiarity with payroll software such as Sage Payroll or Xero Payroll.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • A proactive approach, with the enthusiasm to continue learning and progress within the team.

What's in it for you?

  • A flexible working environment that recognises the importance of work-life balance.
  • A friendly, established team with a genuinely supportive management style.
  • A varied role offering greater responsibility and exposure to more complex payroll work.
  • Opportunities to develop your skills and progress your career.
  • The chance to join a growing business that values its people just as much as its clients.

If you're ready for a new challenge and want to find out more about a payroll role that offers responsibility, flexibility and a team you'll genuinely enjoy being part of, I'd love to have a chat.

Whether you're actively considering a move or simply curious about what's out there, feel free to get in touch with Annie at NXTGEN for a confidential conversation.

Salary is dependent on experience.
