NXTGEN are working in partnership with a well-known business to recruit an experienced Management Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to become a permanent role. As a Management Accountant, you will be a key part of the Finance team, helping to ensure accurate reporting, robust controls, and insightful financial analysis across the business. You will work closely with the Management Accounts Manager and other finance colleagues to support ongoing improvements in processes and provide strategic financial insight to the wider business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Management Accounts Manager in maintaining and enhancing the Group's financial control framework.
- Review and streamline finance processes to drive efficiency and improve workflows across the team.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and analyse significant movements on a monthly and year-to-date basis.
- Provide financial guidance and challenge to Head Office function budget holders, including reviewing monthly P&L statements, business cases, and budgets.
- Assist in the preparation of management accounts and deliver clear commentary on financial performance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring processes and reporting deliver value to both the finance team and wider business stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with strong Excel skills and prior management experience. Experience with BI tools such as Cognos is desirable. You will have excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills, be highly organised, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
