As Tax Manager, you'll be at the heart of the firm's tax team, overseeing a variety of client portfolios and leading projects that make a tangible difference to their businesses. You'll be working closely with owner-managed businesses, providing strategic advice on complex tax issues, from income tax to corporation tax, capital gains, and inheritance tax. This role offers the perfect balance of technical challenge, client interaction, and leadership responsibility, allowing you to make a real impact both internally and externally.
You'll also have the opportunity to mentor and manage staff, helping develop the next generation of tax professionals while ensuring the team maintains the high standards the firm is known for. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage tax consultancy assignments, acting as the first point of contact for client queries
- Provide expert advice on income tax, corporation tax, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax
- Develop tailored solutions for complex technical issues
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering exceptional service
- Plan, prepare, and review tax filings, ensuring compliance and accuracy
- Mentor and supervise staff, supporting their development and maintaining high standards
- Participate in cross-selling and business development activities to grow client relationships
- Monitor work in progress and billing to achieve recoverability goals
What We're Looking For:
- CTA qualified or equivalent experience in a tax environment
- Strong practical experience with owner-managed business tax issues
- Ability to think quickly and provide multiple solutions to complex problems
- Demonstrates a proactive "can-do" approach to problem-solving
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor advice for each client
- Proven experience leading a team and delivering high-quality service
